Giving Back
As we gear up for our Grand Alumni Homecoming on December 5, 2026, AHS Batch 2001 is inviting the broader Ateneo community, our partners, and friends to stand with us.
We want to use this milestone to give back to four causes that are incredibly close to our hearts: supporting the prison ministry, thanking the campus staff who cared for us, keeping our student-athletes safe, and helping deserving students access an Ateneo education.
Supporting the Philippine Jesuit Prison Service (PJPS)
Back in 1994, the Society of Jesus recognized the prison ministry at the National Penitentiary as an official apostolate. Today, the Philippine Jesuit Prison Service Foundation (PJPS) is doing the heavy lifting to help the corrections community.
Led by our very own batchmate, Fr. Erwin "Bok" Arandia, SJ (Acting Executive Director), and wholeheartedly supported by Fr. Robbie Paraan, SJ, this ministry works side-by-side with volunteers and the Bureau of Corrections. They aren't just there to visit; they are there to help inmates improve their daily lives and prepare for a fresh start outside, guided by the values of Godliness, Gratefulness, and Generosity.
Your contributions directly help with:
- Healthcare: Providing basic medical and psychological care to make daily life a bit more humane.
- Paralegal Help: Guiding inmates through the often confusing legal system so they can rebuild their lives.
- Spiritual Support: Running programs that bring hope and dignity back to the community.
- The PJPS Scholarship: Breaking the cycle by giving the children of inmates a chance to go to school.
The Institutional Gratitude Fund
"Inalagaan tayo ng staff noon, alagaan natin ang anak nila ngayon."
When we think about our high school days on the hill, we remember the security guards who greeted us, the maintenance teams who kept the campus clean, and the non-teaching staff who quietly made sure everything ran smoothly. This fund is our way of saying a massive thank you.
Working with the Office of Admission and Aid (OAA) and the Office of University Development and Alumni Affairs (OUDAA), we're raising funds to provide educational assistance for the children of Ateneo's support staff. Your gift makes sure that the families who looked out for us can secure a worry-free education for their own kids right here at Ateneo.
Backing the Ateneo Judo Program
If you look back at old copies of The Guidon, you'll see that Judo at Ateneo goes way back to the 1960s. The program really found its footing again in the 90s, and by the 1995–1996 season, both the Men's and Women's teams were taking home second runner-up finishes. The very next year, the Men's Team bagged their first UAAP Championship.
Since then, they've built a solid dynasty:
- The Men's Varsity Team has brought home 8 UAAP Championships (Seasons 60, 67, 71, 72, 73, 76, 78, and 80).
- The Juniors Team has also been crushing it with 6 UAAP Championships of their own (Seasons 71, 72, 73, 74, 76, and 77).
What they need right now: Safe Mats
While the university has given the team a great space to train, they urgently need help outfitting it. We're raising funds to buy proper, judo-specific mats so our athletes can train hard, stay safe from injuries, and keep fighting for those championships.
More than just sports
What's great about the Ateneo Judo Association is how they look out for the athletes off the mats, too. Because balancing sports and academics is tough, the association runs projects that teach the team real-world skills—like management, marketing, finance, and IT—setting them up for successful careers long after graduation.

We also want to make sure we're keeping the doors open for the next generation. That's why we're throwing our support behind the Ateneo Alumni Association (AAA) Order of the Blue Eagle Scholarship.
We believe no deserving kid should miss out on an Ateneo education just because of finances. The OBE Scholarship steps in to help brilliant students who need financial support across all levels:
- Basic Education: Helping kids in Grade School, Junior High, and Senior High School.
- Higher Education: Supporting undergrads in the Loyola Schools.
- Professional Schools: Funding future doctors and leaders at the Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health (ASMPH).
By chipping in here, you're partnering with the AAA to ensure an Ateneo education remains accessible to everyone.
